Network Migration Technician - Contract - NO 3rd Party Recruiters
We are seeking a Network Migration Technician to support the migration of small to medium office networks from existing firewall solutions to new platforms. This role focuses on coordinating migrations, documenting environments, and providing technical guidance and support throughout the transition process.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate firewall migration schedules with customer offices to minimize disruption
- Document and review existing network and device configurations
- Provide networking guidance during setup and migration to new firewall solutions
- Ensure migrations are completed accurately and on schedule through regular follow-up
- Support decommissioning and proper disposal of legacy equipment
- Collaborate with internal teams and share required technical information
- Maintain updates in project tracking systems and report progress to project management
- Provide post-migration support and assist with network-related issues
- Triage incoming technical requests and route to appropriate support teams
Qualifications:
- 5 years of networking experience with firewalls (Check Point strongly preferred; Cisco, Palo Alto also relevant)
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and core networking concepts
- Hands-on Check Point firewall experience preferred
- Ability to troubleshoot production network issues under pressure
- Experience with task and project tracking tools
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work directly with end users and multiple office environments
Salary : $50 - $55
