Network Migration Technician

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Coordinate with our customer offices to schedule migration of current Check Point firewall solutions to new solutions provided by the office.

· Review current office and device configurations and provide that information to responsible parties.

· Work closely with the migrating offices to provide networking advice on the set up and transition to their new solution.

· Follow up with offices as needed to ensure the migration occurs in a timely manner.

· Ensure decommissioned devices are properly disposed of using established processes.

· Work closely with other responsible team to provide information as needed.

· Report ongoing results to project management, and enter updates in all project tracking systems.

· Be available to assist with networking related issues as needed during and after migrations.

· Field general technology requests from customer offices and shepherd to correct support teams.

QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

· 5 years of experience with a variety of networking and firewall vendors (Check Point, Cisco, Palo Alto, etc…)

· Understanding of networking protocols and technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN)

· Ability to clearly communicate with customers in a professional manner.

· Task and project tracking experience.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve production issues while making sensible decisions in times of stress.
