Contract-to-Hire | Full-Time | First Shift
Pay: $28–$38/hr
Contract: 9-month contract to hire (many convert earlier)
Shift Options: Monday–Friday, 7:00am–3:30pm or 8:00am–4:30pm
Location: Indianapolis, IN (west side)
An established industrial operation is seeking an experienced Industrial Electrician to support electrical systems at a regulated processing facility. This role focuses on installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical equipment supporting plant operations. The environment includes a mix of indoor and outdoor work and exposure to industrial systems and controls.
This is a hands-on role suited for electricians who enjoy problem-solving, working with industrial equipment, and supporting critical infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain a strong focus on health, safety, and compliance with all applicable policies and procedures
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical and electronic equipment including motors, switches, timers, transformers, rectifiers, and sensors
- Install, modify, and maintain feeder and branch circuits, conduit, fittings, and junction boxes
- Ensure all electrical work meets safety standards and National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and one-line drawings
- Perform routine inspections, testing, and calibrations as required
- Support emergency response procedures, including electrical shutdowns when needed
- Operate forklifts or similar equipment as required
- Work around industrial processes such as pumps, tanks, hydraulics, and press systems
- Use required PPE and follow regulations related to regulated materials and processes
- Be available for on-call coverage on a rotating basis
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support plant operations
- Industrial facility with both indoor and outdoor responsibilities
- Exposure to the elements; non-climate-controlled areas
- Safety-sensitive role requiring personal protective equipment
- Clean-shaven requirement to support the use of protective respiratory equipment
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Journeyman Electrician certification or associate degree in an electrical-related field (required)
- 3 years of experience as an electrician in an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Experience working with PLC-controlled systems preferred
- Familiarity with regulated or process-driven environments a plus (manufacturing, utilities, wastewater, industrial processing, etc.)
- Strong working knowledge of electrical principles and NEC standards
- Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical systems efficiently
- Comfortable working in safety-critical environments
- Reliable attendance and ability to work scheduled and on-call shifts
- Willingness to work both indoors and outdoors as needed
