The Planet Group has partnered with a Madison area company to locate a full-time Data Governance Analyst to support the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of enterprise data across core business systems.
This role will play a key part in maintaining high-quality master data within ERP environments and driving standardization efforts across teams.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience working with product or supply chain data, understands how data flows through ERP systems, and is comfortable partnering with business stakeholders to improve data quality and processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve master data within ERP systems, with a focus on product and supply chain-related information
- Identify data quality issues and implement solutions to improve accuracy, consistency, and completeness
- Support data cleansing initiatives, including standardizing naming conventions and resolving duplicate or inconsistent records
- Partner with business teams (e.g., operations, procurement, analytics) to ensure data aligns with operational needs
- Assist with ERP-related data activities such as validation, testing, and integration support
- Contribute to the development and documentation of data standards, definitions, and governance practices
- Create and maintain reports to monitor data quality and support business decision-making
- Document processes, workflows, and data-related changes to support transparency and consistency
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 3 years of experience working with data in a business or ERP environment
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems and master data management
- Experience working with product, inventory, or supply chain data
- Strong Excel and Microsoft 365 skills
- Proven ability to improve data quality and support data standardization efforts
- Experience working with business stakeholders to gather requirements and resolve data issues
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with reporting and visualization tools such as Power BI
- Familiarity with SQL or similar query languages
- Exposure to data governance frameworks, data dictionaries, or metadata management
- Experience supporting ERP implementations or system upgrades
- Background working in supply chain, manufacturing, or distribution environments
