Backend .Net Developer

Planet Technology has partnered with a Madison, WI area company to locate C#.net developer with backend skills for a long-term contract position.

Our client is launching a multi-year initiative to modernize a core financial platform, with a strong focus on building a robust API layer to support integrations across internal systems and third-party applications. This is a high-impact effort involving complex, highly integrated environments where performance, security, and reliability are critical.

The program is already underway and expected to continue through 2028, offering long-term project stability.

Please note, this is a HYBRID role. You must be willing to go onsite 2-3 days a week. Absolutely no Third Party resumes will be accepted.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven background building backend applications using the Microsoft stack, with several years of hands-on experience in C# and .NET within Visual Studio
• Solid track record designing and delivering RESTful services in production environments
• Prior exposure to financial services or similarly regulated industries
• Experience implementing automated testing strategies across unit, integration, and API layers
• Working knowledge of modern development workflows, including source control and continuous integration/deployment pipelines
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams
• Familiarity with emerging AI-driven tools or agent-based platforms (e.g., large language model integrations)
• Experience developing and deploying solutions in cloud environments, particularly Microsoft Azure

What You’ll Be Doing

• Design and build scalable backend services using C# and .NET to support internal business applications
• Connect and manage data flows between APIs, SQL Server, and other enterprise platforms
• Contribute to code quality through peer reviews, testing, and performance optimization efforts
• Partner with engineering peers and business stakeholders to define and refine system functionality
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues while continuously improving application stability and performance
