Key Responsibilities
- Design, fabricate, and repair precision tooling, dies, jigs, fixtures, and gauges.
- Operate and program conventional and CNC machining equipment, including lathes, mills, grinders, and EDMs.
- Interpret complex blueprints, schematics, and 3D models to determine tooling requirements.
- Perform precise measurements using a variety of metrology tools to ensure dimensional accuracy and quality.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve issues with existing tooling to optimize production efficiency.
- Select appropriate materials and heat treatments for tooling components based on application and performance requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to develop and improve manufacturing processes and tooling solutions.
- Proficiency in operating manual and CNC machine tools (lathes, mills, grinders, EDMs).
- Ability to interpret complex engineering blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Expertise in precision measurement techniques and the use of metrology tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges).
- Strong understanding of various metals, alloys, and their machining properties.
- Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for tool and die related issues.
- Proficiency with CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, Mastercam).
- Experience with CNC programming and machine setup.
- Welding and basic fabrication skills.
- Experience operating advanced metrology equipment (e.g., CMM).
