Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement quality standards for incoming materials and components.
- Conduct supplier audits to assess their quality systems and manufacturing processes.
- Manage supplier corrective action requests (SCARs) and track their effectiveness.
- Collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement.
- Review and approve supplier quality documentation, including PPAPs and First Article Inspections.
- Monitor supplier performance metrics and provide regular feedback.
- Participate in new product introduction (NPI) activities to ensure supplier readiness.
- Investigate and resolve non-conforming material issues from suppliers.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related technical field.
- Proven experience in supplier quality management, auditing, and corrective action processes within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949) and relevant industry standards.
- Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies such as SPC, FMEA, APQP, PPAP, and Root Cause Analysis.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills for effective supplier relationship management.
- Experience with statistical analysis software and data interpretation for quality improvement initiatives.
- - Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and tools (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping).
- - Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) software and its application.
- - Certification in Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt).
- - Experience with supplier development programs and initiatives.
- - Knowledge of advanced product quality planning (APQP) methodologies.
