Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and log incoming shipments of raw materials, components, and finished goods.
- Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips, noting any discrepancies or damages.
- Prepare and package outgoing shipments according to specifications, ensuring proper labeling and documentation.
- Load and unload trucks and other vehicles using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks.
- Maintain accurate inventory records by updating the warehouse management system (WMS) for all received and shipped items.
- Organize and maintain the receiving and shipping areas, ensuring a clean and safe working environment.
- Coordinate with production, quality control, and logistics departments to ensure timely movement of goods.
- Prepare shipping documents, including bills of lading, shipping labels, and customs forms.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience with shipping software and inventory management systems
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 pounds
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Basic computer proficiency (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite)
- Excellent attention to detail
- Forklift certification
- Experience with inventory management software
- Basic understanding of lean manufacturing principles
- Familiarity with hazardous materials handling procedures
