Key Responsibilities
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections of incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges) to verify product specifications.
- Document inspection results accurately, including non-conformances and corrective actions.
- Identify and quarantine non-conforming materials or products, initiating appropriate disposition procedures.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues and implement preventive measures.
- Conduct first article inspections (FAI) and provide feedback on new product runs.
- Maintain calibration records for inspection equipment and ensure proper functioning.
- Proven experience in a manufacturing quality inspection role.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Expertise in using precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges, CMM).
- Familiarity with quality control methodologies (e.g., SPC, Lean, Six Sigma) and ISO 9001 standards.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document inspection results and non-conformances.
- Experience with statistical process control (SPC) software
- Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification or equivalent continuous improvement training
- Basic understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Experience with the calibration of measurement and test equipment
