Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of machinists in daily operations.
- Set up, program, and operate advanced CNC and manual machining equipment.
- Inspect finished parts to ensure adherence to precise quality standards and specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex machining issues and equipment malfunctions.
- Develop and implement efficient machining processes to optimize production.
- Coordinate work schedules and prioritize tasks to meet production deadlines.
- Provide hands-on training and guidance to junior machinists.
- 5 years of hands-on experience as a Machinist, with demonstrated leadership or supervisory responsibilities.
- Expertise in operating and programming CNC and manual machining equipment (mills, lathes, grinders).
- Proficient in interpreting complex blueprints, technical drawings, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Strong understanding of tooling selection, fixturing, material properties, and precision measurement techniques.
- Proven ability to train, mentor, and lead a team of machinists, ensuring production schedules and quality standards are met.
- Experience with advanced CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360) for complex geometries or multi-axis machining.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for reviewing designs or creating simple fixtures.
- Demonstrated ability to train and mentor junior machinists or apprentices.
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles, 5S, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Familiarity with CMM operation or other advanced metrology equipment.
