Key Responsibilities
- Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections of raw materials, in-process components, and finished products.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and CMMs to verify product specifications.
- Document inspection results accurately, including non-conformances and corrective actions taken.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and quality standards to ensure compliance.
- Identify and report product defects, deviations, and trends to production and quality management.
- Initiate and manage the quarantine or rejection of non-conforming materials.
- Assist in the calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment as required.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).
- Strong understanding of quality control principles and manufacturing processes.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify visual and dimensional defects.
- Basic computer skills for data entry, report generation, and using quality management software.
- ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or Certified Quality Technician (CQT) certification
- Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) software and data interpretation
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies
- Proficiency in programming or operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs)
