Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive dimensional and visual inspections of first article parts.
- Verify part compliance against engineering drawings, specifications, and CAD models.
- Utilize precision metrology equipment (e.g., CMM, calipers, micrometers, optical comparators) for measurements.
- Generate and complete First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) following AS9102 or customer-specific standards.
- Document all inspection findings, including identification and reporting of non-conformances.
- Interpret and apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles during inspection.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to address and resolve part discrepancies.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Demonstrated expertise in operating various precision measurement tools and equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, CMMs).
- Proven experience in a manufacturing quality inspection role, with specific experience in First Article Inspection (FAI) processes.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong documentation skills for accurate record-keeping and non-conformance reporting.
- Working knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100) and relevant industry quality standards.
- CMM programming and operation experience.
- Lean Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt certification.
- Proficiency in CAD software for design review.
- Experience with diverse manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, casting, additive manufacturing).
- Advanced GD&T interpretation and application skills.
