Key Responsibilities
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to accurately determine project scope and requirements.
- Calculate material, labor, equipment, and overhead costs for manufacturing processes.
- Collaborate with sales, engineering, and production teams to gather necessary information.
- Prepare comprehensive and competitive cost estimates and proposals for new and existing products.
- Identify and recommend cost-saving opportunities or alternative manufacturing methods.
- Maintain and update estimating databases and cost models.
- Review and evaluate supplier quotations for raw materials, components, and outsourced services.
- 3-5 years of experience in cost estimating, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, labor costs, and overheads.
- Advanced proficiency with estimating software, ERP/MRP systems, and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills for accurate cost analysis.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems relevant to manufacturing.
- Familiarity with specific manufacturing processes (e.g., CNC machining, welding, injection molding).
- Understanding of cost accounting principles and financial analysis.
- Ability to navigate and interpret CAD files for material take-offs and process visualization.
