The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, CAD models, and technical specifications.
- Program machine parameters and adjust settings for precise material removal.
- Perform in-process and final inspections of machined parts using precision measuring tools.
- Troubleshoot machine malfunctions and perform routine maintenance.
- Maintain accurate production records and quality control documentation.
- Select and prepare electrodes and workpieces according to job requirements.
- Proven experience operating and setting up EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) equipment, including Wire and/or Sinker EDM.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Skilled in using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and optical comparators for quality inspection.
- Ability to select appropriate cutting parameters, electrodes, and tooling based on material and part specifications.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot machine alarms, process deviations, and perform basic preventative maintenance.
- Experience with CAM software for EDM programming or program modification
- Proficiency in advanced metrology tools (e.g., CMM, optical comparators)
- Basic electrical or mechanical troubleshooting skills for machine tools
- Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
