Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) equipment according to specifications.
- Load and adjust NC programs for EDM operations, ensuring accurate tool paths and parameters.
- Monitor EDM process parameters, making real-time adjustments to optimize performance and part quality.
- Perform in-process and final inspections of machined components using precision measuring instruments.
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance on EDM machines, including cleaning and fluid level checks.
- Troubleshoot and resolve minor operational issues or machine malfunctions.
- Maintain accurate production logs and quality control documentation.
- Proven experience operating and setting up Wire EDM and/or Sinker EDM machines in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T specifications.
- Skilled in the use of precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges for quality inspection.
- Ability to perform basic machine maintenance, troubleshoot common operational issues, and make necessary adjustments.
- Understanding of material properties and their impact on EDM processes.
- Strong commitment to safety protocols and maintaining a clean, organized work environment.
- Experience with CAD/CAM software for program interpretation or minor modifications.
- Demonstrated ability to perform basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in operating other precision machining equipment, such as CNC mills or grinders.
- Familiarity with advanced metrology tools like CMMs or optical comparators.
