Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC Swiss-type lathes to produce precision parts.
- Read and interpret blueprints, G-code, and technical specifications.
- Load raw material stock and unload finished components from the machine.
- Perform in-process quality inspections using precision measuring instruments.
- Monitor machine operation, identify malfunctions, and troubleshoot basic issues.
- Adjust machine offsets and tooling to maintain part quality and dimensions.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
- 2 years of direct experience operating and setting up CNC Swiss Lathes.
- Proficient in reading blueprints, interpreting GD&T, and using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, optical comparators).
- Ability to perform tooling changes, adjust offsets, and execute minor program edits (G-code/M-code).
- Strong understanding of machining principles, material properties, and quality control procedures.
- Experience with preventative maintenance and troubleshooting common machine issues to ensure optimal performance.
- Ability to program or significantly modify G-code directly at the machine control.
- Experience operating advanced metrology equipment (e.g., CMM, optical comparator with software).
- Proven ability to optimize tooling and machining processes for efficiency and tool life.
- Basic machine troubleshooting and preventative maintenance skills.
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM software for program review or generation.
