Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC Swiss-type lathes according to specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, G-code, and technical drawings.
- Load raw materials and unload finished parts from the machine.
- Monitor machine operation, detect malfunctions, and make necessary adjustments.
- Perform in-process quality inspections using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, comparators).
- Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine alarms or production issues.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- 2 years of direct experience operating and setting up CNC Swiss-type lathes (e.g., Star, Citizen, Tsugami).
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering blueprints, GD&T, and G-code/M-code.
- Skilled in using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, optical comparators) for in-process quality control.
- Ability to perform tool changes, offsets, and minor program adjustments to maintain part specifications.
- Experience troubleshooting machine alarms, common machining issues, and maintaining tight tolerances.
- Advanced metrology experience (e.g., CMM, optical comparator).
- Proficiency in G-code programming/editing for minor program adjustments or optimization.
- Experience performing preventative maintenance or light machine repair.
- Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or 5S.
