Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC Swiss-type lathes to produce precision parts according to specifications.
- Perform in-process inspection using various metrology tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges) to ensure quality standards are met.
- Load raw material, unload finished parts, and manage material flow for continuous production.
- Read and interpret blueprints, G-code, and M-code to ensure correct machine operation and part production.
- Monitor machine performance, identify and troubleshoot common operational issues, and make minor adjustments.
- Adjust machine offsets and tooling as needed to maintain part tolerances and optimize cycle times.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and cleaning on machines to ensure optimal performance.
- Proven experience operating and setting up CNC Swiss-type lathes.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering blueprints, including GD&T.
- Skilled in using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, optical comparators) for quality control.
- Ability to perform minor G-code/M-code program edits and adjust offsets.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for common machining issues and process optimization.
- Experience with G-code programming or CAM software (e.g., PartMaker, Esprit).
- Proficiency in advanced metrology tools (e.g., CMM, optical comparator) and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
- Demonstrated ability in tooling selection and optimization for various materials.
- Experience with preventative maintenance and minor troubleshooting of CNC Swiss lathes.
