Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC Swiss-type lathes according to specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings.
- Load raw material into automatic bar feeders and manage material changes.
- Perform in-process quality inspections using precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).
- Adjust machine offsets, tool wear compensations, and program parameters to maintain part specifications.
- Monitor machine operation, identify, and troubleshoot minor malfunctions or quality deviations.
- Perform routine tool changes, preventative maintenance, and maintain a clean work area.
- Minimum 2-3 years of hands-on experience operating and setting up CNC Swiss Lathes.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T.
- Demonstrated skill in using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and optical comparators.
- Ability to perform in-process quality inspections, make offset adjustments, and troubleshoot common machine issues.
- Familiarity with G-code and M-code for basic program editing and machine control.
- Proficiency with CAD/CAM software (e.g., Esprit, PartMaker).
- Experience operating advanced metrology equipment (e.g., CMM, optical comparator).
- Demonstrated ability to perform minor machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience training or mentoring junior operators.
