The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, write, and optimize CNC programs using CAD/CAM software for multi-axis milling machines.
- Select appropriate tooling, cutting speeds, and feed rates to achieve desired part specifications and efficiency.
- Create detailed setup sheets, tool lists, and work instructions for machine operators.
- Simulate and verify CNC programs to detect potential collisions, errors, and optimize tool paths before production.
- Collaborate with engineers and machinists to troubleshoot machining issues and implement program adjustments.
- Continuously review and improve existing programs to reduce cycle times, minimize material waste, and enhance part quality.
- Proficiency in CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, SolidWorks CAM).
- Strong understanding of G-code and M-code, tooling, and machining principles.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Proven experience in CNC programming for multi-axis milling operations.
- Aptitude for optimizing machining processes, troubleshooting, and problem-solving.
- Solid understanding of materials, cutting tools, and workholding strategies.
- Experience with 4-axis or 5-axis simultaneous programming.
- Proficiency in designing custom workholding and fixtures.
- Familiarity with advanced G-code editing and machine-side troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of metrology principles and CMM programming basics.
