Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a billing operations function, coaching team members and promoting a high standard of performance and continuous improvement
- Direct the end-to-end billing cycle, including invoicing and collections, across a mix of subscription-based and usage-driven B2B offerings
- Collaborate with Accounting to support accurate revenue reporting and ensure compliance with internal policies and financial controls
- Partner cross-functionally with teams such as Sales, Customer Success, RevOps, and Legal to address billing-related inquiries, contract nuances, and onboarding needs
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and implement automation within billing systems (e.g., Salesforce, Ordway, Stripe) to enhance efficiency and reduce manual effort
- Track, analyze, and communicate key billing and collections metrics (such as aging and performance trends), delivering insights to leadership to inform decision-making
- Act as an escalation point for complex or sensitive billing matters, ensuring timely resolution and a positive customer experience
Qualifications
- 5-7 years of experience in billing operations, revenue operations, accounting, or a related function with increasing responsibility
- Prior experience leading and developing teams, with a focus on mentorship and performance management (2–3 years preferred)
- Strong familiarity with SaaS business models, including subscription and consumption-based billing structures
- Proficiency with billing and CRM platforms; experience with tools like Salesforce and Ordway is a plus
- Analytical and detail-oriented, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and implement process improvements
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex billing or financial concepts to a variety of audiences
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment while balancing strategic priorities with day-to-day execution
- Demonstrated experience working with large datasets and maintaining a high level of data integrity
