SWAN™ is a short-run, high-quality manufacturing facility serving the indoor and outdoor fabric market. Today SWAN Fabrics™ is a reputable full service commission dyeing and printing operation in America.
We are looking for a full time Licensed Boiler Operator / 2nd Class Fireman to operate, repair, maintain and adjust boilers, turbines, pumps, compressors, water limes, steam lines, valves and all related systems and equipment.
Core Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Chief Engineer, operate boilers and all auxiliary equipment necessary for the production of steam for heat and cooling for Process Plant and facilities.
Perform frequent inspection checks and regular maintenance on boiler systems and related valves, gauges, piping, and other equipment.
Constantly inspect water, gas, and other fluid levels inside boilers and related equipment, making adjustments to fluids as necessary to keep systems operating at peak levels.
Repair piping, valves, and other boiler machinery as needed.
Replace defective valves, gauges, and other boiler parts as needed.
Record daily gas readings, feed water tests, and other test results.
Adjust valves and boiler controls as needed to control the amount of pressure in the system and keep the boiler system functioning safely.
Keep boiler room, related facilities, and work areas clean and organized at all times.
Read and follow blueprints, operations manuals, and instructions to perform scheduled maintenance and make repairs to boiler systems.
Required Skills/Abilities
Read, speak and write English
Ability to perform work at extreme heights and in tight confined spaces
High degree of mechanical aptitude who work in physically demanding environments.
Able to work in the most extreme conditions environments, including hot, cold, wet, and steamy environments
Able to lift up to 50 pounds
Excellent problem-solving and verbal communication skills
Able to work in a team environment and independently
Education And Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent
Active 2nd Class Fireman license
Experience Operating Industrial Boilers, Preferred
Good grasp of mathematics and ability to make quick calculations
Experience with power tools and hand tools
