We are building licensed Systems Technicians — not electricians.
Role Overview
The Fire Alarm Apprentice works under the supervision of licensed Systems Technicians to assist with the inspection, installation, service, and troubleshooting of fire alarm systems throughout Massachusetts.
This is a field-based position that combines technical learning, hands-on experience, and classroom education toward licensure.

Role Overview
The Fire Alarm Apprentice works under the supervision of licensed Systems Technicians to assist with the inspection, installation, service, and troubleshooting of fire alarm systems throughout Massachusetts.
This is a field-based position that combines technical learning, hands-on experience, and classroom education toward licensure.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Assist licensed technicians with annual, semi-annual, quarterly, and monthly fire alarm inspections
- Support installation and service of fire alarm systems
- Learn to troubleshoot low-voltage systems and devices
- Test equipment and systems after installation or repair
- Maintain accurate and detailed electronic inspection reports via tablet
- Communicate daily job progress and deficiencies to supervisors
- Follow NFPA standards and company quality procedures
- Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition
- Travel throughout Massachusetts to job sites
What We’re Looking For
- Strong interest in developing a career in the fire alarm industry
- Willingness to enroll in required schooling toward obtaining a Massachusetts Class D Systems Technician License within one year
- Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools
- Ability to work with low-voltage wiring and related devices
- Team-oriented mindset
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- Ability to pass background check and pre-employment screening
What Success Looks Like
Within Your First Year, You Will
- Be actively enrolled in required licensing coursework
- Develop a strong understanding of NFPA standards
- Gain field competency assisting with inspections and service
- Progress toward your Class D licensure
