A leading global law firm is seeking a 2–5 year Associate to join its Environmental Practice in Washington, D.C. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex environmental litigation and regulatory matters, advising clients across a range of industries on high-stakes compliance and permitting issues.
Associates will gain exposure to sophisticated administrative law matters and federal environmental regulatory frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
Salary Range: $235,000 – $365,000 (DOE)

Key Responsibilities
- Advise clients on environmental regulatory and compliance matters
- Support litigation involving administrative law and environmental statutes
- Handle permitting and infrastructure-related matters under federal regulatory programs
- Draft pleadings, motions and legal memoranda
- Conduct legal research on environmental and regulatory issues
- Assist with matters involving NEPA, Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act and related frameworks
- Support client strategy on complex environmental disputes and regulatory risks
- 2–5 years of environmental litigation and/or regulatory experience
- Strong knowledge of administrative law and federal environmental statutes
- Experience with permitting and infrastructure-related matters preferred
- Exposure to chemicals, pesticides, consumer products or emerging contaminants is advantageous
- Strong academic credentials
- Excellent drafting, analytical and communication skills
- Proactive, detail-oriented and team-focused
- Admitted to practice in Washington, D.C. or eligible for admission
