Our client, a manufacturing company located in Dunmore, PA, is looking for a Production Supervisor (afternoons) to join their team.
What you will do in this role:
- Establish daily, weekly, and monthly objectives and communicate them to employees.
- Manage the workflow by assigning responsibilities and preparing schedules.
- Responsible for managing performance plans, work schedules, vacations, assignments, and special projects as well as training and personnel development for direct reports.
- Perform verification of production output according to specifications.
- Executes production objectives and adherence of all company policies and programs associated with Regulatory Compliance.
- Detect issues in efficiency and suggest improvements.
- Responsible for overseeing the production staff and ensures that and Regulatory programs are followed; makes sound decisions and executes quality oversight.
- Ensure product is properly packed, labeled, prepared for distribution.
- Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources, and maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Resolve personnel problems by analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions, and recommending action.
- Supervise staff and delegate tasks to employees.
- Accomplishes manufacturing results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; and initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
- Train new employees to safely use machinery and follow procedures.
- Work with Quality control to ensure the production process is compliant and consistent to safety guidelines and company standards.
What you will bring to the role:
- 2 years’ experience in the food industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proven experience as Production Supervisor or similar role.
- Experience in using various types of manufacturing machinery and tools.
- Ability to uphold regulatory, company, and customer standards.
- May be required to work weekends.
- Ability to work well with others in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability to be respectful, approachable, and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
