Drives gasoline or diesel powered tractor-trailer and or straight truck to transport and deliver office or household items. Minimum age 21. Requires valid drivers license and medical card
- Maintains driver log according to D.O.T. regulations;
- Must maintain personal expense logs as required by the company;
- Inspects truck for defects before and after each trip and submits report indicating truck condition;
- Assures proper material and equipment is loaded in truck before starting out on a move;
- Driver consults with the shipper on items to be loaded, explains the paperwork and the process that will be used during this phase of their move;
- Completes a detailed inventory sheet prior to loading truck;
- Denotes all damaged items on inventory sheets;
- Provides the same services as the helper classification in loading, carrying and unloading services from the inside house and on to the truck;
- Organizes the crew’s work duties during the move process;
- Wraps furniture with blankets to prevent damage;
- Assists with the wrapping or dishes and fragile items in packing paper and pack them into containers;
- Oversees and participates in the loading of truck, distributing weight evenly, forming compact load to optimize available space;
- Insures no smoking policy is enforced on company and client property;
- Other duties may be assigned.
