Role Purpose
The Quality Control Inspector III is responsible for advanced inspection, metrology programming, and nonconformance management in a manufacturing environment. This role provides technical leadership, supports quality processes, and ensures products meet engineering specifications and customer requirements while mentoring team members and driving continuous improvement.
Scope & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform assigned duties in accordance with documented procedures and work instructions
Inspection & Quality Control
• Prepare and execute daily QC inspection plans
• Create and maintain CMM/metrology inspection programs
• Inspect incoming metal parts in accordance with GD&T and engineering specifications
• Inspect parts, materials, and finished products to ensure quality and accuracy
• Log and monitor daily reject rates to identify trends
Nonconformance & Corrective Action
• Initiate Nonconforming Material Reports (NCMRs) and Corrective Action Requests (CARs)
• Maintain accurate and organized quality documentation
• Initiate CARs for Returned Material Authorization (RMA) parts
• Disposition NCMR and RMA materials in accordance with company procedures
• Conduct and support daily Material Review Board (MRB) meetings
Packaging & Final Quality Assurance
• Ensure compliance with company packaging guidelines and specifications
• Identify and properly dispose of defective or damaged materials
• Use packaging materials and tools safely and effectively
Team Leadership & Training
• Assist QC operators with technical questions and daily tasks
• Train and mentor QC Operators on inspection methods, procedures, and quality standards
• Promote adherence to quality and safety practices
Cross-functional Collaboration
• Communicate quality issues and findings to Engineering and Production teams
• Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve quality concerns and improve processes
Continuous Improvement & Compliance
• Identify opportunities for quality and process improvements and support implementation
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality procedures, and company policies
• Perform additional duties as assigned based on business needs
Work Experience & Skills
Education:
• High school diploma or equivalent required
Experience:
• 3–5 years of experience in quality control or inspection within a manufacturing environment; experience in PCB or photo-chemical etching industry preferred
• Skills / Knowledge:
• Strong knowledge of GD&T, engineering drawings, and inspection techniques
• Experience with CMM programming and metrology equipment
• Strong problem identification and resolution skills
• Ability to plan, organize, and implement procedures and priorities
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with quality documentation
