Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Dog Dryer to join our pet care team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently drying dogs after baths and before grooming sessions, ensuring a comfortable experience for our furry clients. This role requires excellent animal handling skills, attention to detail, and a compassionate approach to pet care. Prior experience in veterinary or pet grooming environments is highly valued.
Duties
- Safely operate dog drying equipment to thoroughly dry pets after bathing or grooming.
- Handle dogs gently and confidently during the drying process, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Assist with pet grooming tasks, including brushing, trimming, and cleaning as needed.
- Restrain animals appropriately using animal restraint techniques to prevent injury during drying and grooming procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness of the drying area and equipment, adhering to sanitation standards.
- Monitor pets for signs of stress or discomfort and respond accordingly to ensure a positive experience.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating with pet owners about their pet’s care and progress.
Experience
- Prior veterinary technician experience or veterinary assistant background preferred.
- Experience in dog training, pet grooming, pet sitting, or kennel work is a plus.
- Strong animal handling and restraint skills are essential.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (50lbs.) when necessary for handling larger dogs or equipment.
- Knowledge of animal care, pet care, and animal handling best practices is highly desirable.
- Previous customer service experience in a pet-related environment is beneficial.
