Duties
- Perform professional grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and nail clipping tailored to each dog’s breed and individual needs
- Handle dogs with care and confidence, ensuring their safety and comfort through effective animal restraint techniques
- Assess each dog’s coat condition, skin health, and temperament to determine appropriate grooming procedures
- Maintain a clean and organized grooming station, adhering to sanitation standards to ensure a hygienic environment
- Communicate clearly with pet owners about grooming preferences, special needs, and after-care instructions
- Assist with pet handling duties such as dog training or behavioral management when necessary
- Support veterinary staff with basic animal handling tasks or pet care activities as needed
Qualifications
- Must have two years experience…Proven experience in pet grooming with a strong understanding of breed-specific cuts and styles
- Knowledge of animal handling techniques, including restraint and pet care best practices
- Experience working with dogs that may require special attention or veterinary care procedures
- Familiarity with veterinary technician or assistant roles, including basic animal health assessment skills
- Ability to lift heavy objects such as grooming equipment or large dogs safely and comfortably
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members
- Previous kennel experience or pet sitting background is a plus but not required; enthusiasm for animal care is essential
