Duties
- Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, cakes, and desserts according to established recipes.
- Decorate cakes and pastries with artistic flair, ensuring presentation meets high standards.
- Assist in the development of new dessert recipes and menu items.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry station and kitchen area.
- Follow food safety guidelines to ensure all products are safe for consumption.
- Package desserts for service or retail as needed.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during busy periods.
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and assist with ordering supplies as necessary.
Experience
- Previous experience in a restaurant or culinary environment is preferred, especially in baking or pastry preparation but not required.
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques.
- A background in the food industry or formal culinary training is beneficial but not mandatory.
