The Panther Group is seeking a W2 Contract (long term, multi-year) highly experienced Senior IT Project Manager to support large-scale, enterprise technology initiatives for a leading university in Boston, MA. This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic, hands-on project leader with deep experience managing complex IT programs, cross-functional teams, and enterprise system implementations.
- This hybrid role requires 3 days onsite in Boston each week and is ideal for professionals who thrive in fast-paced, high-visibility environments. (This role is not open for candidates that are in need of relocation)

Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Delivery
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale IT projects and enterprise initiatives
- Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, milestones, deliverables, and resource planning
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and aligned with business objectives
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans and status reporting
- Identify risks proactively and implement mitigation strategies to keep projects on track
Stakeholder Management & Communication
- Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, technical teams, vendors, and executive leadership
- Manage stakeholder expectations, alignment, and communication throughout the project lifecycle
- Provide clear, consistent reporting and transparency around project status, risks, dependencies, and deliverables
- Present project updates and recommendations to leadership and governance teams
Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead cross-functional project teams in a matrixed environment
- Foster collaboration, accountability, and strong communication across teams
- Coordinate efforts between business units, IT teams, vendors, and external partners
- Support organizational change management and drive project adoption
Monitoring, Reporting & Financial Oversight
- Track project performance, financials, milestones, and deliverables
- Publish project status reports and maintain project documentation
- Monitor budgets and identify opportunities for operational efficiencies
- Facilitate post-project reviews and lessons learned documentation
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field
- 8–10 years of progressive IT Project Management experience
- Proven success managing complex, enterprise-level IT initiatives
- Strong experience managing difficult or high-level stakeholders
- Experience leading cross-functional teams in matrixed organizations

Preferred Qualifications

Pay is $83.92-$97.90 per hour DOE
Salary : $84 - $98
