General Summary/Purpose
The role of Commercial Portfolio Manager and Support Specialist is to provide loan production and portfolio management support for the Bank’s Commercial Relationship Managers. Works in close collaboration internally with Credit Analysts, Commercial Relationship Support Specialists, Loan Operations, and Commercial and Private Wealth teams to build a strong loan relationship team. This role will involve learning key responsibilities across portfolio analysis, reporting, compliance, and client service functions to provide comprehensive support during peak periods, staff absences, or special projects. By gaining proficiency in multiple areas, the PMSS will contribute to operational resilience, enhance collaboration across teams, and support a seamless workflow throughout the department.
Along with the loan team, utilizes nCino (Commercial workflow and CRM software) to input loan transactions and work requests to move through approval and post-approval stages to closing. They will also support onboarding of deposit accounts and the overall Commercial client experience. The Commercial Portfolio Manager and Support Specialist must have a strong ability to multitask. They must prioritize and complete tasks quickly and efficiently with consistent communication and follow up with the RM and clients.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
#1 Loan assistance and production support Percentage of time: 50%
Provide assistance to Commercial RMs in all stages of new loan production
Assist with entering information into the business loan platforms
Submit business loan applications for Commercial customers as needed
Collect pertinent documentation and information from clients to assist the loan process
Interact with Commercial customers to collect information as needed
Pull credit reports
Collaborate with loan processors, underwriters, and credit analysts through underwriting
Order appraisals and real estate evaluations with appraisal department
Collaborate with attorneys to order title work and applicable attorney prepared documents for loan closings
Post payments and research issues on loans
Facilitate construction draws and transfers
Complete advances on lines of credit
Print and assemble loan packages in collaboration with central document preparation and other departments
Notarize documents for client packages
Attend loan closings as needed
#2 Relationship and Portfolio Management Percentage of time: 50%
Assist RM in client onboarding experience for loans and deposits
Partners internally with Relationship Manager to prepare for annual reviews, renewals of lines/loans, client meetings.
Input client meetings, interactions, and tasks into CRM system nCino/Salesforce
Manage borrowing base monitoring, covenant tracking, and collateral review for RM portfolio.
Outbound calling to customers and prospects
Develop skills necessary to assume a portfolio of client relationships to manage
Strong outbound calling and communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to resolve issues as they arise as well as completion of tasks
Assist RM’s with addressing exceptions on loans and portfolio
Gather and organize client documents on RM shared drive and loan systems for booking
Assist with underwriting, processing, and documentation preparation of renewals and maturities
Collect and review required documentation and information for loan covenants and financial statement tracking.
Reconcile borrowing base reports with supporting documentation monthly.
Collaborate with Commercial team and Wealth Services team on overall client experience
Wires and other operation tasks for clients
Coordination of client gifts and promotions for RMs
Other duties to support commercial clients as needed
Serve as back up to other relationship management teams for loan production to ensure comprehensive lending and deposit team support.
