Job Description:
The Data Specialist participates in management and quality assurance of large data sets that are critical to maintaining supply chain operations and which ultimately drive financial management. The Specialist functions as member of the master data management team to assure the accuracy and completeness of large, complex and frequently-changing data sets and works on projects to support and enhance the mission and strategic objectives of the OSU Wexner Medical Center. This role supports the initiation, planning, execution and closing phases of projects involving the quality review of multiple data sources, utilizing multiple systems, and collaborating across business unit functions. The Data Specialist will typically work within existing Workday ERP system and will identify, collect and integrate data from other sources as needed to address organizational needs and priorities. The position will work on projects of various scopes and complexity, usually relating to data management and operational problems. Position develops data products and provides data services according to established policies, procedures, and appropriate methodologies for management of data.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (e.g., Health Information Management, Statistics, Social Science, Library Science, Business, Economic, Computer Science, Engineering, or Marketing) or equivalent combination of education and experience. Two years of experience and/or training in data management, data analytics, and/or supply chain. Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy required. Experience working in Workday and/or Tecsys preferred. Experience and training in using advanced functions of MS Excel preferred. Familiarity with data standardization strategies preferred.
