Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements, acting as the welcoming face of the restaurant.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or OpenTable, ensuring clear communication with kitchen staff.
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining presentation standards and ensuring guest satisfaction throughout their visit.
- Upsell menu items and specials to enhance the dining experience and increase sales opportunities.
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and cashiering duties, while maintaining proper sanitation and food safety standards.
- Clear tables efficiently by bussing and resetting for new guests, supporting overall restaurant cleanliness and organization.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing guest inquiries, resolving concerns promptly, and fostering positive guest relations in both fine dining and casual settings.
Requirements
- Previous restaurant experience or food service background is preferred; experience in fine dining is a plus.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or OpenTable is highly desirable.
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy hours.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on guest relations and customer service excellence.
- Knowledge of food handling, sanitation practices, and food safety regulations to ensure compliance at all times.
- Ability to perform basic math for cash handling and order calculations accurately.
- Experience in serving, bussing, or host/hostess roles within the food industry will be advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to upsell menu items through sales techniques that enhance the guest experience.
