Overview
The Library for the Performing Arts (LPA) hosts over 200 public programs and events in our 200 seat auditorium, in our flexible spaces, and on the larger Lincoln Center campus, all in service to highlighting its archival holdings and inspiring the next generation of artists and arts lovers. This position is a member of the Programming and Production team, which is responsible for the technical production of Public Programs, Events, and Exhibitions at the Library for the Performing Arts.
The Library for the Performing Arts (LPA) hosts over 200 public programs and events in our 200 seat auditorium, in our flexible spaces, and on the larger Lincoln Center campus, all in service to highlighting its archival holdings and inspiring the next generation of artists and arts lovers. This position is a member of the Programming and Production team, which is responsible for the technical production of Public Programs, Events, and Exhibitions at the Library for the Performing Arts.
Responsibilities
- Produce, shoot, and edit public programs, performances, and events, in collaboration with the LPA Production Team
- Set up, operate, and maintain the video and live stream equipment at LPA
- Direct and produce livestreams for Public Programs in LPA’s various venues, ranging from traditional theater to experimental space use
- Edit archival footage for use in public programs and events
- Edit recordings of public programs for original documentation purposes, online platforms (YouTube), and marketing materials
- Collaborate with curators and their staff through the editing process and make suggestions for improvement
- Perform other duties as needed
Required Education, Experience & Skills
Required Experience
- 3 years of experience in video production and editing in a performing arts or cultural heritage institution
Required Skills
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud applications (Premiere Pro, After Effects)
- Strong knowledge of video formats, codecs, and compression
- Familiarity and experience with Blackmagic (ATEM) switchers
- Familiarity, and working expertise with various types of cameras and video gear (e.g. Canon XF605)
- Knowledge of documenting performing arts for archival or study purposes
