Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Auto Body Sheet Metal Technician to join our dynamic automotive repair team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in auto body repair, sheet metal fabrication, and welding, with experience working in dealership or restoration environments. This role involves repairing and restoring vehicle bodies, performing sheet metal work, and ensuring high-quality finishes. Duties
- Repair and replace damaged sheet metal panels using MIG welding, soldering, and power tools
- Fabricate custom sheet metal parts to match vehicle specifications
- Perform auto body repairs including dent removal, panel alignment, and structural repairs
- Conduct vehicle maintenance tasks such as auto glass replacement and detailing
- Utilize auto estimating software to assess damage and plan repairs
- Apply auto painting techniques including airless paint spraying for finishing touches
- Assist with auto restoration projects, ensuring authentic repairs and finishes
- Use hand tools and mechanical knowledge to disassemble, reassemble, and fine-tune vehicle components
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment adhering to safety standards
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair progress and quality assurance
Qualifications
- Proven dealership experience or background in auto body repair preferred
- Proficiency in MIG welding, soldering, welding, and fabrication techniques
- Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive systems and vehicle maintenance
- Experience with sheet metal work, auto painting, auto glass installation, and auto restoration
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and auto body assembly equipment
- Knowledge of auto estimating processes and customer service principles is a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during repairs
- Automotive repair or mechanic experience highly desirable
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality craftsmanship
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
