What are the responsibilities and job description for the Home Health Aide / CNA position at The Moorings Park Institute Incorporated?
Moorings Park is looking for Home Health Aide’s. The Home Health Aide (HHA) is responsible for providing personal care services to assigned clients to maintain bodily and emotional comfort and to assist clients toward independent living in a safe environment. Abides by and follows the established policies and procedures of the Agency and State and Federal regulations.
Contributions:
- Performs only those personal care activities contained in a written assignment by a qualified health professional employee, which shall include but shall not be limited to assisting the client with personal hygiene, ambulation, eating, dressing and shaving.
- Ensures that the client receives adequate nutrition including preparing the client for meals and assisting the client as necessary. Encourages and offers fluids to provide adequate oral intake.
- Assists the client in meeting the needs for bowel and bladder elimination. Provides incontinence care as needed. Collects urine, stool, and sputum specimens as directed by the nurse/M.D.
- Respects client rights by knocking on client's doors before entering and addressing client by their proper name.
- Demonstrates respect for client, facility, and staff member property.
Job Requirements:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in the English language required
- During emergencies or natural disasters may be required to be on duty for the duration of the disaster.
- Highschool diploma or equivalent preferred
- Florida State Nursing Assistant or Home Health Aide Certification
- Completion of written competency test with a minimum score of 80% and skills competency test with no errors is required.
- Valid state of Florida driver’s license and proof of insurance.
