A leading industrial equipment manufacturer is seeking an experienced Regional Sales Manager to drive revenue growth across an established territory. This role is responsible for owning the commercial performance of the region by developing new business, expanding existing customer relationships, and growing both Original Equipment (OE) and Aftermarket (AM) sales.
The Regional Sales Manager will serve as the primary commercial contact for customers while developing the technical knowledge necessary to support product applications and recommend solutions. Working closely with an experienced sales and engineering team, this individual will build strong relationships with distributors, OEMs, end users, and channel partners to maximize territory performance.
This opportunity is ideal for a consultative sales professional with experience selling engineered industrial equipment into process industries who enjoys developing long-term customer relationships while driving revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
Territory Sales Management
Own the commercial performance and revenue growth of the assigned territory.
Develop new business opportunities while expanding relationships with existing customers.
Execute territory sales plans designed to achieve annual revenue and margin objectives.
Maintain and grow both Original Equipment (OE) and Aftermarket (AM) business.
Business Development
Conduct customer visits with distributors, OEMs, manufacturer representatives, and end users.
Build long-term strategic relationships across key accounts.
Identify opportunities for replacement equipment, upgrades, repairs, and aftermarket service sales.
Conduct product presentations, customer seminars, and participate in industry trade shows.
Develop opportunities through both direct sales efforts and channel partners.
Distributor & Channel Management
Develop, train, and support distributor and manufacturer representative networks.
Evaluate channel partner performance and recommend adjustments to maximize territory growth.
Hold channel partners accountable for achieving annual sales objectives.
Strengthen relationships throughout the distribution network while identifying opportunities for expansion.
Technical & Commercial Support
Serve as the primary commercial resource for customer inquiries.
Analyze customer specifications and recommend appropriate product solutions.
Provide technical and commercial support throughout the sales cycle.
Prepare, manage, and follow up on proposals to ensure timely and accurate customer responses.
Sales Planning & Forecasting
Develop and execute annual territory business plans.
Maintain accurate opportunity pipelines utilizing Salesforce CRM.
Prepare annual sales forecasts and provide regular forecasting updates.
Monitor market trends, competitive activity, pricing, and emerging customer needs.
Report competitive intelligence and lost-order analysis to leadership.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related technical field, or equivalent industry experience.
Minimum of 5 years of outside sales experience selling engineered industrial equipment.
Experience selling into chemical, petrochemical, water & wastewater, or general process industries.
Proven experience managing distributor and manufacturer representative channels.
Demonstrated success meeting or exceeding sales and margin goals.
Experience utilizing CRM systems (Salesforce preferred).
Valid driver's license with the ability to travel extensively throughout the assigned territory.
Preferred
Mechanical Engineering degree or strong technical background.
Previous application engineering or inside sales experience.
Experience selling rotating equipment, pumps, or similar engineered products.
Familiarity with aftermarket parts and service sales.
Experience managing multiple product lines across industrial markets.
