Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Part-Time Food Prep & Packaging Assistant to support the production of our ready-to-eat offerings. This role is primarily focused on food prep and the accurate packaging, labeling, and organization of meals for retail distribution. Ideal candidates are dependable, team-oriented, and have a passion for quality, cleanliness, and consistency.
Key Responsibilities:
Packaging & Labeling
- Portion, package, and seal finished food items according to brand standards
- Apply correct product labels, including dates and nutritional tags
- Ensure accurate presentation and safe handling for retail readiness
Prep Support
- Wash, chop, and portion ingredients for use in meal assembly
- Pre-weigh ingredients and maintain prep lists as directed
- Assist in batch tracking and production logs as needed
Cleanliness & Organization
- Maintain an organized and sanitary prep/packaging station
- Follow all food safety and hygiene protocols in accordance with health department regulations
- Participate in opening/closing cleaning tasks and deep cleans
Team & Communication
- Collaborate closely with kitchen staff and leads to meet production goals
- Communicate inventory needs and product issues in real time
- Contribute to a respectful, efficient, and upbeat work environment
Qualifications:
- Experience with food prep or packaging preferred, but not required
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards
- Ability to work on your feet for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Clear communication and willingness to learn systems and procedures
- Flexible schedule with open availability (including weekends)
Work Hours: This part-time position requires 24-32 hours weekly
Compensation: $17
