Responsibilities
- Measure and interpret construction plans and technical drawings to determine flooring layout and installation requirements.
- Prepare subfloor surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and applying necessary primers or adhesives for optimal flooring adhesion.
- Install hardwood flooring using hand tools and power tools, ensuring precise cuts, fitting, and alignment.
- Perform floor refinishing tasks such as sanding, staining, sealing, and applying protective coatings to restore or enhance existing floors.
- Execute epoxy floor installations and vinyl or tile flooring projects with attention to detail and quality standards.
- Handle manual tasks including caulking, trim carpentry, fixture installation, and water damage restoration to ensure comprehensive project completion.
- Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to building installation safety compliance protocols and using appropriate personal protective equipment at all times.
Skills
- Extensive experience in hardwood floor installation, floor refinishing, and related building material installation techniques.
- Proficiency with hand tools such as saws, chisels, hammers, levels, and measuring devices; familiarity with power tools including drills and sanders.
- Strong understanding of construction estimating processes and interpreting technical drawings or construction plans.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely while working on construction sites or during remodeling projects.
- Experience with cabinet installation, fixture setup, trim carpentry, caulking techniques, and general remodeling activities.
- Commitment to building installation safety compliance standards and maintaining high-quality workmanship throughout every project.
