Software Support Engineer
Location: Newark, CA (Onsite)
Employment Type: Contract (1 Year)
Pay Rate: Up to $52/hr W2
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (40 hrs/week, potential OT)
About the Role
We are seeking a Software Support Engineer with strong experience in automotive software systems to join a dynamic team working on cutting-edge vehicle technology. This role focuses on diagnosing, testing, and troubleshooting software issues related to vehicle connectivity and infotainment systems. You will collaborate with development teams to resolve issues and ensure smooth software operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to Access Control Module (ACM) and other ECU components.
- Perform Over-The-Air (OTA) updates and ensure successful rollouts.
- Investigate connectivity issues involving LTE, WiFi, GPS, and networking.
- Assist in testing infotainment features and document results.
- Work cross-functionally to resolve software bugs and provide solutions for field service engineering.
- Maintain test infrastructure and document processes for knowledge transfer.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: 5 years in software support, system testing, or related field.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
- Technical Skills:
- 5 years with Access Control Module (ACM) or ECU testing & diagnosis.
- 5 years with Linux systems.
- 5 years using Vector tools.
- Familiarity with vehicle communication protocols (CAN, CANoe) and embedded systems.
- Strong problem-solving and documentation skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Telematics Control Unit (TCU) and infotainment systems.
- Exposure to automotive connectivity technologies.
