Position Overview
MGF is seeking a dependable and safety-driven Box Truck Driver to transport and deliver construction materials across New York City. This role requires strong familiarity with NYC streets, job site conditions, and delivery constraints, as well as a commitment to operating safely in high-traffic and active construction environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a box truck to deliver construction materials to job sites throughout NYC
- Navigate city routes efficiently, accounting for traffic, road restrictions, bridge/tunnel clearances, and delivery windows
- Load, transport, and unload materials such as tools, equipment, and building supplies
- Ensure all cargo is properly secured to prevent damage or safety hazards
- Coordinate deliveries with site supervisors and contractors upon arrival
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, reporting maintenance or safety issues
- Maintain accurate delivery records, tickets, and logs
- Follow all DOT, OSHA, and company safety regulations
Required Qualifications
- Valid clean driver’s license (CDL preferred depending on truck size and load requirements)
- Experience driving a box truck or similar commercial vehicle, ideally in construction or building supply delivery
- Strong knowledge of NYC streets, boroughs, and construction site access challenges
- Clean driving record with a strong safety mindset
- Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy construction materials
- Comfortable working in active construction environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience delivering construction or industrial materials
- Familiarity with job site protocols and safety standards
- Experience using GPS, routing systems, and delivery management apps
- Basic knowledge of load securing techniques (straps, pallets, etc.)

- Follow all traffic laws and site-specific safety rules
- Use proper PPE when required (hard hat, safety vest, gloves, etc.)
- Conduct thorough vehicle and load safety checks before and after trips
- Practice defensive driving in dense urban and construction zones
- Be aware of pedestrians, workers, and heavy equipment on job sites
- Immediately report any accidents, incidents, or unsafe conditions
Work Environment
- Frequent stops at active construction sites
- Exposure to outdoor weather conditions
- Physically demanding work including loading/unloading materials
Work Schedule
- Full-time
- Early morning starts typical; occasional overtime and weekend work may be required
