What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dishwasher position at The Mercantile Kitchen & Bar?
KEY RESPONSIBILITES
Dishwashing & Cleaning
- Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment efficiently
- Operate dish machine safely and properly
- Maintain clean dish and pot washing areas throughout shift
- Remove trash and recycling regularly
- Sweep and mop kitchen floors as needed
- Clean spills immediately to maintain a safe work environment
Kitchen Support
- Assist kitchen staff with basic tasks when needed
- Restock clean plates, utensils, and kitchen tools
- Help maintain organization in storage and dish areas
- Support cooks and prep staff during busy periods
- Keep bathrooms, staff areas, and back-of-house spaces clean if assigned
Sanitation & Safety
- Follow all sanitation and food safety standards
- Properly handle cleaning chemicals and sanitation products
- Maintain cleanliness of drains, mats, sinks, and dish equipment
- Ensure garbage areas remain clean and organized
- Report maintenance or safety concerns immediately

QUALIFICATIONS
- No experience required; training provided

Pay: From $21.00 per hour
