Food Service Director
Rate: $28 - $30/hour (depending on experience)
Shift: Full Time
North Gate Health Care Facility is looking to add a Food Service Director to its team. In this role, you’ll oversee all aspects of the Dietary Department, ensuring residents receive high-quality, nutritious meals while maintaining food safety, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee the daily operations of the Dietary Department, including staffing, scheduling, budgeting, and departmental performance
- Supervise meal production and service to ensure meals are nutritious, appealing, and served according to resident dietary needs
- Develop menus, maintain standardized recipes, manage inventory, and monitor food and supply costs
- Ensure compliance with food safety, OSHA, infection control, and regulatory requirements
- Educate and mentor dietary staff while fostering a positive and engaging work environment
- Maintain equipment, temperature logs, safety records, and departmental documentation
- Address resident concerns and grievances related to dietary services and ensure timely resolution
- Participate in facility surveys, quality improvement initiatives, and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Provide leadership during emergency situations and support overall resident satisfaction
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum education requirement: Completion of a Dietary Management Certificate Course; Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred
- Minimum experience requirement: 3 years of Food Service Management experience; 5 years preferred
- Knowledge of food safety regulations, dietary operations, and inventory management
- Strong leadership, organizational, and team development skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Commitment to providing exceptional customer service and resident-centered care
