About the Role
As the Business Developer for The Masters Lawn and Pest, you will play a pivotal role in expanding our client base and driving revenue growth across the commercial segments of the business. We are seeking an ambitious and motivated professional to help us strengthen our presence in the market and build strong customer relationships. In this role, you will focus on promoting our commercial services including lawn maintenance, lawn installation, irrigation, and pest control by identifying new opportunities. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a strong sales mindset, and a genuine passion for helping our target clients enhance the beauty, health, and functionality of their outdoor spaces.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities with community association managers, facility directors, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Develop a targeted network of property managers, general contractors, HOA boards, and builders to drive consistent lead generation and new contract acquisitions.
- Conduct site visits, prepare proposals, and deliver professional presentations to potential clients.
- Collaborate with the operations team to ensure smooth service execution and customer satisfaction.
- Track market trends, competitor activities, and local development projects to identify potential leads.
- Represent the company at networking events, trade shows, and community outreach programs to generate new leads (NCFAA, FCAA, ect.).
- Work with the marketing team to create campaigns and materials that support sales goals.
- Provide regular sales forecasts and performance reports to company leadership.
- Maintain up-to-date records of clients, sales activities, and opportunities in Aspire software.
- Participate in team meetings and strategic planning sessions to align business development goals with overall company objectives.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Horticulture, or a related field (preferred but not required).
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management ideally within landscaping, lawn care, or a related service industry.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Knowledge of landscaping services, irrigation systems, and pest control practices (or willingness to learn).
- Goal-oriented with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Minimum Required Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in the landscaping industry
- At least 1 year of management or supervisory experience
- Proficient with technology, including Google Workspace and Microsoft Office
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for the past 5 years
