Overview

The Marzetti Company is looking to hire team members who will grow with us on our journey towards world class operational excellence.  The position of Maintenance Manager is responsible for directing the maintenance activities in a safe and efficient manner to achieve the desired quality, quantity and timely maintenance of all production machinery/equipment, physical plant, utilities and grounds in accordance with federal, state and local regulations.  Directs & supervises Maintenance Supervisors and ensures compliance with company policies.

  • Maintains highest standard of Safety for all functions on an ongoing basis and ensures compliance for self and others to OSHA standards.
  • Performs daily inspection of all PPE required including but not limited to SLIP-RESISTANT/STEEL-TOED SHOES, safety glasses, gloves, shieldsand aprons to ensure good overall condition of items that provide optimal personal safety & protection while working in the facility. 
  • Successfully acquiresand maintains Lock Out-Tag Out Certification for machine and safely performs all functions in accordance with OHSA and company requirements and standards. 
  • Performs daily inspection of power equipment with proper documentation. 
  • As a member of the T. Marzetti Company, completes his/her Behavior Based Safety Observations (BBSO), corrects issues when identified, and participatesin problem solving.

  • Leads and promotes a strong Food Safety Culture within the facility
  • Completes his/her Behavior Based Quality observations (BBQs), corrects issues when identifiedand participates in problem solving.  
  • Ensures compliance toquality, Food Safety Preventive Control (FSPC), FSMA, Food Defense, , OSHA and other support programs; assures conformity to all company, customer and government standards. 
  • Reviews, understands, and complies withall applicable SOPs containing Process or Preventive Control monitoring or verification, if trained and designated as a Qualified Individual (QI). 
  • Communicatesany concerns related to product safety, integrity, quality and legality to management or to the confidential hotline if the need for anonymity is necessary.

  • Coordinates shift maintenance activities through the supervision of employees to ensure the shiftmaintenance objectives are accomplished in a timely, cost-effective and safe ma 
  • Coordinates the preventative maintenance program to maintainproduction equipment in an efficient, safe operating condition.                                                                                           
  • Responsible for auditscontrols and minimizing the overtime labor costs, maintenance / repair costs and equipment downtime. 
  • Oversees corrections and running adjustments of equipment to maximize production capabilities during shifts.
  • Coordinates with other department managers to ensure proper coordination of maintenance activities with production and ensure adequate & efficient materials, supplies, & parts inventory control activities and procedures.      
  • Responsible for ensuring scheduling of the maintenance department.      
  • Coordinates changeovers of equipment or preventative maintenance according to production schedules.
  • Ensures required maintenance reporting is accurateand timely.       
  • Maintains close working relationshipswith all departments and responds to deviations from standards immediately. 
  • Responsible for maintainingpositive employee, corporate and community relations along with appropriate interface with customer service, vendors & contractors. 
  • Regular Attendance is requiredin accordance with Company attendance policy and procedures. 
  • Performs tasks or responsibilities as assigned by Management. 
  • Complete initial/annual training to ensure the individual is properly qualified (QI) to perform all required job tasks as outlined in training programs/records.

    

Supervisory Responsibility: 

  • Manages direct reports.                                                                                 
  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordinationand results of the maintenance department. 
  • Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling, appraising and terminating employees; planning, assigning and directing work; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints/grievances and resolving problems.

Qualifications

Requirements: 

 

  • 3-5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment required, preferably with leadership experience in a food-related industry.         
  • Industrial Maintenance Degree or Mechanical/Technical School Certification preferred
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Demonstrated ability to appropriately work with confidential information and situations and manage correspondence. 
  • Positive leadership and self-motivation skills.                                                   
  • Must be able to successfully obtain industrial truck and lift operating certification and safely maintainper company and OSHA standards.   
  • Strong organizational abilities, capable of multi-tasking.                                                   
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing effective staffing, scheduling, budgets, equipment mechanical processes with proven troubleshooting and resolution aptitude. 
  • SAP knowledge/usage preferred
  • Budget experience leading capital projectsfor the plant with cost savings initiatives 
  • Ability to read & interpret written & verbal direction while working in a safe, effective& productive manner within a fast-paced environment.
