Where You Come In
As a Repair / Claims Technician, you’ll be responsible for completing field repairs to stair and millwork products, ensuring everything meets Summit’s high standards. This hands-on role includes assessing product issues, performing skilled carpentry repairs, and traveling to customer locations throughout the Charleston, SC area.
We’re looking for a detail-oriented problem solver who can work independently, communicate clearly, and consistently deliver excellent service.
What You’ll Do
• Travel to customer sites to inspect and complete repairs on staircases, treads, and related products.
• Diagnose issues and determine necessary repairs with accuracy and efficiency.
• Use hand and power tools to perform carpentry tasks with precision and craftsmanship.
• Ensure all work is completed to company standards and customer satisfaction.
• Communicate effectively with customers, builders, and internal teams.
• Document repair activities and submit necessary reports or photos.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area, including inside company vehicle.
• Identify recurring issues and suggest improvements to reduce future claims.
What You Bring
• Proven experience in carpentry, woodworking, or a related trade.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve issues independently.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools used in repair and finish work.
• Excellent attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites.
• Professional demeanor and strong customer service mindset.
• Physical ability to lift/move materials and perform hands-on work throughout the day.
Pay & Schedule
• Full-time, hands-on role based in Charleston, SC
• Company vehicle provided or mileage reimbursement for travel
• Competitive pay based on experience and skills
• Monday–Friday schedule, with occasional flexibility based on job needs
• $19–$22 an hour, based on experience
