The Maples is looking for a dependable, motivated, and hands-on Maintenance team member to help keep our facility safe, comfortable, and operating at its best.
Our Maintenance Department plays an important role in the daily lives of our residents and staff. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in their work, can troubleshoot problems, and is willing to jump in wherever needed.
Responsibilities
- Perform general building maintenance and repairs throughout the facility
- Complete routine preventative maintenance
- Troubleshoot and assist with basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical issues
- Repair and maintain doors, locks, fixtures, furniture, equipment, and other facility items
- Complete painting, patching, minor carpentry, and general repair projects
- Respond to maintenance requests from resident households and facility departments
- Assist with grounds and exterior building maintenance, including seasonal needs and snow removal
- Perform routine inspections and help identify potential safety or maintenance concerns
- Assist with moving furniture, equipment, supplies, and other items as needed
- Maintain tools, equipment, maintenance areas, and supplies in a safe and organized manner
- Follow facility safety procedures, infection-control practices, and applicable regulatory requirements
- Assist with emergency maintenance situations when necessary
- Work respectfully around residents, families, visitors, and staff
- Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will:
- Have general maintenance, construction, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or similar hands-on experience
- Be comfortable troubleshooting problems and determining appropriate solutions
- Be dependable and able to work independently while also being part of a team
- Have strong attention to safety and detail
- Be able to prioritize multiple maintenance requests and changing needs
- Have good communication and customer-service skills
- Be comfortable working in an active healthcare environment
- Be able to perform the physical requirements of the position, including lifting, bending, climbing, standing, and working with tools and equipment
- Have a valid driver's license
- Be willing to assist with occasional after-hours or emergency needs as required
Previous healthcare or nursing facility maintenance experience is helpful, but not required. We are willing to consider candidates with strong general maintenance skills and a willingness to learn.
