Deli Associate/Cashier

Overview
The Local on Pensacola Beach is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Deli Associates/Cashiers to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while preparing and serving high-quality deli products. You will play a vital role in enhancing the customer experience by ensuring that all food items are fresh, appealing, and presented in an inviting manner. Your ability to upsell products and handle cash transactions efficiently will contribute to the overall success of our deli department.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve deli items, including meats, cheeses, and sandwiches, ensuring quality and freshness at all times.
• Provide outstanding customer service by greeting customers warmly and assisting them with their orders.
• Engage in upselling techniques to promote additional products and enhance sales.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the deli area, including proper food handling practices.
• Operate the POS system for processing transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak hours.
• Adhere to all safety and health regulations regarding food preparation and handling.
• Stocking, inventory, and rotating product around store.

Experience

• Previous experience in the food industry or grocery store setting is preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with POS systems is a plus.
• Culinary skills or knowledge of food handling practices will be beneficial in this role.
• Strong communication skills with a focus on customer service excellence.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Requirements

• Must be able to work weekends and holidays
• Previous experience in food service or retail is preferred but not required.
• Basic math skills for cash handling and retail transactions are essential.

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
