The Opportunity
Lignum Group is supporting the appointment of a Structural Engineer to join a growing
engineering team delivering solutions into the data centre sector. This role will focus on structural design and analysis across mission-critical infrastructure, working closely with design teams to deliver practical and efficient engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and verify structural components, including frame profiles and connection details, for data centre infrastructure
- Support the production of engineering drawings (non-stamping) in collaboration with design teams
- Undertake structural and seismic calculations using recognised industry software
- Prepare technical reports, documentation, and calculation packages
- Advise on material selection and structural performance
- Liaise with architects, contractors, and other engineering professionals to ensure cohesive project delivery and manufacturing requirements
Requirements
- Experience in structural engineering within construction or manufacturing environments
- Strong understanding of structural analysis and design principles
- Experience working in close collaboration with design teams
- Ability to interpret and review engineering drawings
Preferences
- Exposure to data centre, mission-critical, or comparable sectors
- Experience within high-spec environments such as pharma or energy
- Familiarity with manufacturing-led or production-linked engineering environments
Software
- ANSYS, RISA, IDEA StatiCa, AutoCAD, Excel (experience with Onshape or SolidWorks is advantageous)
